About me: 

I am a forensically trained, double boarded and medically licensed psychiatrist in Scottsdale, Arizona. I specialize in a broad range of clinical and legal psychiatric issues. 

I am a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at A.T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.  

I am the President of the Arizona Psychiatric Society (2015-16).

My mission is to provide objective unbiased expert evaluations, consultations and opinions in the field of forensic and clinical psychiatry.

Vision:

I strive to be a respected forensic and clinical psychiatrist whose psychiatric opinions are valued by both sides of the adversarial legal system, and whose clinical opinions are of benefit to the recipients.

Areas of Forensic Practice


independent psychiatric evaluations

To establish diagnosis and to make standard of care recommendations.


fitness for duty evaluations

To determine if an employee is able to function in a work setting and to outline possible impairment, restrictions, and limitations.


Psychiatric Malpractice - Standard of Care - Peer Reviews:

To determine if the appropriate care is being provided and to recommend further treatment options.


worker's compensation evaluations

To determine if psychiatric symptoms are present, if they are related to work injury, if impairment in functioning is present, and to recommend appropriate treatment if indicated.
 


Extreme hardship - immigration evaluation:

To determine if a US Citizen will suffer extreme hardship if their spouse is deported. 


Disability rating evaluations

To rate psychiatric impairment according to the AMA Guides 6th Edition.


Criminal evaluations

Most common questions in the legal arena are if a defendant is Competent to Stand Trial or if the defendant knew the right from wrong at the time of the crime (Criminal Responsibility).
